I have been flirting with zotonic for a couple of time already but
never really got to commit to it. Today, I had the intention to hack a
quick website in zotonic to see how fast and how far it can get me to
my goal but i got stuck after the installation. I thought the admin
password was "admin". I tried recreating the database many times but
no luck. The config under testblog says {admin_password,admin}.
Any idea what i am doing wrong?

Hi,

Did you add double quotes around your password? It has to be a string (list).

Yes i actually did. The config for the password is
{admin_password,"admin"}.
I tried taking a look in the source code to find out where the
password is actually set at startup. The only thing that came up
in the z_install_data was this line: Hash = m_identity:hash([]);
Is the password supposed to be empty?

Anyway, i reinstalled zotonic again, since i am having fun, but only
this time, when i did open the homepage in the browser, it gave me a
blank page. i am compiling from sourve by the way.
Any guidance will be more than welcome.

The current master branch is currently undergoing some intensive
development, so it might be that the default templates are not working
as one would expect.

If you want a stable zotonic experience you should stick to the
release-0.8.x branch for now.

cheers,
Arjan
