Hello from Pubget!
Pubget is a database that makes research easier because we direct
users straight to the PDF of the paper they're looking for. Founded in
2008, we currently serve hundreds of thousands of researchers, and are
now part of 220 research libraries around the world (see more about us
below). In an effort to provide further support for Zotero users, we
would like to submit a feature to integrate Pubget's one-click PDF
lookup in Zotero.
The patch (available here:
http://assets0.pubget.com/zotero/pubget_zotero_feature.diff)
introduces an additional link in the "Locate" dropdown shown at the
top of the Info tab of a Zotero item. The link, labeled "Pubget
Lookup," passes detailed citation information to Pubget, which then
reads the user's subscription credentials and delivers the appropriate
PDF instantaneously. In the event that we do not find the paper, we
alert the user that it is not available on Pubget in a non-invasive
manner.
The patch is relatively simple at the code level. It accesses item
information through methods provided by the Zotero item and uses an
XMLHttpRequest to query our servers for the paper.
I'd like to provide this as an opportunity for open discussion on this
feature. Any suggestions, comments, and constructive criticisms would
be greatly appreciated as we work to improve it. If you'd like to test
the feature, please apply the patch, select an article available on
Pubget (a great test article can be found here:
http://researchblogging.org/post-search/list?article=10.1073/pnas.1003391107),
and select "Pubget Lookup" from the Locate menu.
Thanks!

What Pubget is: Pubget is a PubMed-oriented workflow tool that makes
journal access much easier for end-users. You can think of us as a
search and collaboration tool (like PubMed+SharePoint), a link
resolver (like SFX), and a text mining platform (like Quosa) all in
one. The difference is that Pubget connects users with 15 million
science PDFs, instantly.
You can get a feel for the Pubget search experience by clicking the
links below. Pubget lets users:
--Search and get any paper within your library's subscription (http://
pubget.com/search?q=allergies+access:open)
--Pull articles from the web and your internal repositories,
seamlessly (

--Read entire issues of journals one article at a time (http://

--Embed full text PDFs in your existing internal applications (http://
