This is a comment on Trac-ticket #303 'Mouse cursor should give
feedback for copying vs. moving items between collections' , where Dan
Stillman wrote:

"If anyone notices drag feedback of this sort anywhere in Firefox, add
a comment."

When I am editing within a text box on a web page (in Firefox 2), I
can move text by selecting a text fragment and dragging it to another
location. However, when I hold down the control key while dragging,
the cursor changes (getting a plus-sign) and releasing the text will
result in a copy action. Isn't this the behavior Dan Stillman is
looking for?

This was on Windows? I don't have access to Windows or Linux at the
moment, but perhaps the dragAction does have an effect on those
platforms. I definitely haven't seen it on OS X. It's also possible that
what you're seeing is a system-level text service (I can't even
reproduce the text-copying behavior on OS X), which wouldn't be helpful
for #303.

I'll take a look once I'm back on an Intel machine. Thanks.
