Tomorrow is Game Day! The weather is beautiful and we've mowed down the grass and weeds in our back yard to a nice even level that you can play on. Elliot received a "slackline" for his birthday from the Kkurzumemnypicklestaedters. A slackline is kind of like a combination of a tightrope and a trampoline. We'll grill meat on the grille on the back porch and if you bring vegetables or beer we'll grill them too.
We have a big cardboard box (maybe it was used to deliver a television or some other large product), and a big collection of plastic balls. Children who gather up plastic balls from under the bushes in the back yard and throw them into the cardboard box will receive one point of the appropriate color (depending on the color of the ball) for each ball that they throw in. Then anyone who has at least one point of any color can climb into the box and burrow under the balls if they want.
Elliot and I are heavily into Titan: The Fantasy Monster Slugathon Wargame nowadays. We've played several two-person games against each other or three-person between us two and Irby. I would be happy to play Titan with anyone tomorrow at Game Day. It serves from two to six players, and probably takes about 1 & 1/2 hours per player. Irby and Elliot have to go to bed at seven o'clock, so if they are playing we'll probably have to suspend the Titan game at bedtime and you'll have to come back and play with us again soon. Hm... maybe we'll make it an adults-only Titan game if any adults are interested. If you want to play Titan you should either show up right at 14:00 UTC-6 or else you should email saying you are interested and when you intend to arrive. :-)
If you have any other ideas about what you want to do tomorrow, or when you'll arrive and what or who you'll bring, then please write back to this email!

Sounds great! In addition to slug-a-thon type games, it might be fun to play a bunch of short and sweet games that allow for more mingling and chatting, and child-duty swapping. I'm thinking of stuff like No Thanks! (I don't have a copy, but maybe we could fashion one?), Liar's Dice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liar%27s_dice), or Zendo.

I don't believe you.

Okay, we'll hold beginning of the adults-only Titan game until Rob arrives. :-)
I'm suffering from a strong bout of altitude sickness right now from a 14er kicking my butt today. Provided I have not chopped off my own head by tomorrow, I would love to play short, sweet games and watch children.

It's torture being on this list when I'm so far away... I'll have to get a video conference rig that can role dice and place go stones remotely. On Sep 3, 2011 11:13 PM, "Sebastian Kuzminsky" <seb.kuzmin...@gmail.com> wrote:

That would be cool. Not sure how we would feed you, though.

Oops, I meant to say 'roll', not 'role' there.

good point. I guess I'd have to get my own cow head to snack on... ;)

It's funny...I'm about to start working on a way to play board games with people from remote. I'll let you know when I have something to test. :)
