Hi Leo,

It would be really great if Zipeg could automatically unpack and open .pkg files contained within a zip file when double clicked. When I have to remote control my girlfriend's mac with LogMeIn she has to download a .zipped .pkg from LogMeIn and talking her through finding the correct unpacked .pkg and run it after downloading is a nightmare!

I haven't donated yet but if you can do this for me I'll gladly send you some cold hard cash - how does US$50 sound?

Hi John,

Don't worry about donations. Zipeg is free. about .pkg files.

Now about .pkg files. I assume you are talking about Mac version.
.pkg file on Mac is installer script. It does not need to be unpacked
in order to be opened. Just clicking on it will do.
On another hand I try as I might not do "open executable content"
automatically in Zipeg.
The main reason for this is that there is enough malicious content on
the Net and I really do not like when applications like Safari open
the content automatically. Sometimes users download the files by
mistake (you know all those strange download sites). To have something
that executes [possibly malicious] code one more click away is a
safety precaution.

May be I misunderstood the question - feel free to clarify.

Leo
