Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems adoption in Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Zimbabwe: a case study in Harare Province Survey

Dear Respondent,

 

You are invited to participate in an academic research study conducted by Edmore Veremu, a Masters of Information Technology student from the Department of Computer Science at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.

 

The topic of the research is: Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems adoption in Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Zimbabwe: a case study in Harare Province. This research intends to determine the use of ERP Systems in SMEs in Zimbabwe focusing on Harare Province. The research will include an analysis of use, benefits and impacts of ERP on business activities, primarily through means of questionnaires. It is anticipated that the questionnaire can be completed in approximately thirty minutes.

 

The Small Enterprises Development Corporation (Amendment) Bill (2010), defines small enterprises to have up to 75 full time paid employees. Therefore, the parameters for one to participate in this research are as follows: The research participant has to be an owner or employee (in management) of and SME in Harare and meet the minimum legal age of 18 years.

 

Participation in this research is absolutely voluntary. You have the right and privilege to refuse to participate in this research, and you will not be penalised for your decision. You are also at liberty to withdraw your participation at any time.

 

Your identity and your enterprise identity will be protected, a pseudonym will be used during data collection and analysis. The information you give will only be used for academic purposes. In my research report and in any other academic communication, your pseudonym will be used and no other identifying information will be given. Measures have been put in place to ensure safety and confidentiality of the collected data.
