| Passion propels movement! |  I went to Hamilton High School in Bulawayo. One of the most fascinating things that my science teacher introduced me to was Newton’s Mechanical Laws of Motion. I found them intriguing, simple yet so true. The first law states that a body will continue in its state of rest or motion unless it is acted upon by an external force. This idea was first expressed by the great thinker, Galileo. Perhaps the greatest insight that these laws miss when applied to human behavior is that the force that moves people best is not external but inside a person.

The greatest force that creates life motion is the force of desire. Some people do not have desire, they just have uncommitted wishes. Wishes are a weak attenuated prayer that does not have launching force. There is nothing as powerful as a human being whose mind, heart and passion has been enveloped around an idea. Who has turned that idea into a magnificent obsession and who is will not take a NO for an answer. Life respects and opens doors for such people who have a fixed resolve, a burning desire and are passionate about whatever they do. These are the world changers.
If people cannot feel and touch your desire you are boring. Passion attracts resources and support. Desire attracts customers and trade. Passion inflames presentations that would have otherwise been soul-less projections of images, words and numbers. Desire is a powerful force and combined with the agent of goal setting it is the single force shaping every aspect of life, business and society. Not everyone of us will be a charismatic speaker, but where there is passion you cannot be confused. Forever cursed will be the person working at a job in which his soul and passion are dead and absent. That person, it does not matter the size of his curriculum vitae will never become great. Certificate are useless pieces of paper when the desire to work and the passion to make a difference and deliver value are absent. Desire is accelerated by immersion. There are too many people that are in looking out. Those who work with their CV in the top drawer of their desk and ready to send it forth should they face the slightest frustration and pressure. Greatness comes through diving in, full and total commitment: going for broke and total immersion. There are no half-hearted champions in anything. Half way will never cut it. Knee-deep is a pathetic attempt. Be the product of the product. Drive the brand you sell. Use the products your advertise. Buy the products of the counters that you are invested in. I believe in fanaticism, half measures do not cut. Blunt knives do not do the job. People without passion belong outside your factory gate. Can anyone feel your passion? Where is your desire focused? What goals are you pursuing? What products are you selling with the passion of a crusader who has just awoken from a vision of hell? Let the force of desire propel you to greatness.
