Hello,

i have some questions on ZigGis ; i hope you will help me.

1. When I open ZigGis in ArcMap, the tables aren't sort by alphabetical number, wich is a problem because the main database I use contains 900 tables. Is it possible to configure this somewhere ?

2. opening ZigGis in ArcMap takes me almost one minute, and each time I use it I have to specify the ZigFile. Is there a way to configure one default ZigFile ?

3. Last, I have within my 900 tables some wich are not geographical and apear anyway in ZigGis. Is that the usual behavior ?

thank you in advance.

There currently is no way to sort the tables. You do have to specify
the zig file once per each ArcMap session when you add layers. The
window does show nonspatial tables but these are marked with an info
bubble telling the user why zigGIS cannot use it. We think this is
better behavior than simply hiding nonspatial tables because some
people might wonder why certain tables don't show up. This goes along
with Joel's "Don't hide / disable menus" philosophy:
http://www.joelonsoftware.com/items/2008/07/01.html

The good news is we have started some work on enhancing the add layer
window. Some of these issues will be addressed in the next release.

Yes, we're aiming to have a new release in January.

hello,

i have a huge problem on using ziggis with a large database. Is it possible for you to deliver a release with alphabetical sort of tables ? i understand that you just have to modify a main request in ViewDescriptor.cs ? (add a "order by table_name" clause)

we are ready to remunerate the time you need to do so. But we need this modification quick.
is this possible ?

thank you in advance for your response.
