Subject: Nederburg Arts Experience in Knysna
The  Nederburg Arts Experience which this year runs from the 25th
September to 3rd October, is now in its fourth year and consolidating as

one of the best of the regional Arts Festivals in South Africa. There
are
three main areas of focus:

First is the Visual Arts - Knysna has more artists and the Arts
Experience
offers more exhibitions than any other Festival in the country as well
as
an  unequalled programme of Living Workshops and demonstrations by
artists..
The next is Community involvement - the entire community,
including the
Tourist and Business sector as well as the economically disadvantaged
groups are included in as many ways as is possible, and this involvement
is
growing steadily with Traditional singing, etc as well as lectures and
workshops for all interest groups.
The Spring School, introduced as a full section last year, has
proved to
be extremely  popular and valuable
Finally are the Performing Arts which caters for a solid
background of
plays, music and  performances of all kinds so that visitors to the area
as
well as local residents are able to  choose from a rich variety of arts
and
entertainment.

Local entrepreneurship is growing and making it possible for all
individuals and organisations, including schools, of Knysna to
participate
in the Experience to their own particular advantage

Thank you for your assistance in this matter!

Yours sincerely
GILLIAN CARTER
DIRECTOR: COMMUNITY AND PERFORMING ARTS.
