Anyone need V.90 firmware for an internal courier I modem? 2.7.7!

3Com wont admit it exists, but I have it.

For which Country ? For Europe its the wrong newsgroup
(go better to Comp/Dcom/ISDN for international questions). The European
I-Modem latest FW-REv is 2.4.6 for the internal and 2.4.5 for the external
one

Sorry about that, its the US/Canada version firmware for the internal I
modem only. External is avalible from their web site, but for some
reason they have hidden the internal v.90 firmware

Well, Ben, I guess it will be for a specific reason, dont you think?
Anyway, if this is a betafirmware, I would be very careful with it,
this could cause some pour betatester alot of problems.

So better ask your question in Comp/Dcom/Modems (the international Modem-
NEwsgroup of the Usenet). This newsgroup (Z-Netz/Alt/modem/USR is only for
German, Swiss, Austria Modemmodells generally). Nobody knows here some
special details which only exisits for US/CAnada-Modells. For example
some Modells are not sailed here in Europe e.g. the U-Interface-Modells
of the Courier-I-Modem (German use only S/T-Interfaces generally) or the
one without POTS-Ports.

Never use US/CAN Firmware for European Modems and vice versa - this could
destroy the modem!

No he USE the US-Version of the internal Courier-I-Modem. So he has choose
the right FW-REv.

BTW: Its not a problem to flash a European-I-Modem with a US-FW-Version
and back to the European-FW, but its not USEFULL nor nessecary
(due to a-law-Coding vs. mu-law differences and wrong D-Channel-
Protocoll AT&T ESS5, so you cant use the US-FW on the DSS1-Line).
I have made this for testing purposes only to check some register-
differences between the US and Euro-FW-REv. Also its not a problem
to get a Connection to the European-V90 or X2-Hostfirmware with an
US/Canda-X2/V90-Client-Modem. The I-Modem automatically recognize the
a or mu-law coding sheme of the Client-Modem. This works generally NOT
on all PCM-Host-sides (e.g. totally different Dial-in-Routers on ISP-
sides).
