yWriter5 on Linux

I discovered a couple of things... If you install Ubuntu (latest
desktop) and run Gnome, yWriter5 works. It even loaded a short story
I'm working on (~7,600 words) without any troubles. Woo-hoo!
Unfortuantely, I tend to lean more towards KDE. After three days,
numerous Linux "flavors", and countless error messages, I'm tossing
aside my pride and asking if anyone has a solution.
I will say this, I'd much rather use Gnome to get yWriter than KDE
without yWriter. And of course, any excuse to get away from Windows.
