Hi,
I have requested access for youtube api from you tube console "Request
access" link. It said response recieved.
I don't know whether I can access it or not, can someone throw some light
on activation process..

Hello,

 We're deliberately limiting preview access to a rather small list of
developers while we iterate on the API and make some breaking changes.

 I do expect that we'll be removing the whitelist completely before too
long, but I can't provide a specific date right now.

Hi Jeff,
So until there is access, is there a work around like an older version API or something ?
Also, what do you think is the time frame for lifting these restrictions and / coming up with new features ?
The site depends on YouTube for video content and any clarity on present / future will be helpful..

Hello,

 Yes, version 2 of the YouTube Data API is our current production-ready
release. It also offers the ability to fetch similar types of analytics
data via Insight reports, though these are not as flexible as what the YT
Analytics API will offer.
