Subject: Simplenote and Yojimbo sync app - alpha testers?
Hello all

I've hacked together some Applescript and PHP and produced an
application that syncs between the iPhone app Simplenote, and Yojimbo.

At this stage it has to be explicitly run to sync, but the next
version will have some sort of automatic syncing every hour or some
such.

If anyone is interested in testing this, you can find the download here:

http://daisychase.net/blog/2009/10/01/simplenote-yojimbo-sync-v0-11/

All comments and suggestions very welcome!

Thanks for this, but when I run it, it prompts with an error message
saying 'SQL error: no such table: vars'.

Thanks for letting me know! A silly mistake but an easy fix - the
version at from http://daisychase.net/blog/2009/10/01/simplenote-yojimbo-sync-v0-11/
  should install properly now.

Works great for me thanks

I've taken the Simplenote icon from here http://www.simplenoteapp.com/extras.html

and used this process

        1) Open the .png file in Preview
        2) Press command-A to select the entire image
        3) Press command-C to copy the selection
        4) Control-Click on the file/folder you would like to change
        5) Click the icon (so there is a frame around it)
        6) Press command-V to paste the image into that

from here http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=467159

To add the simplenote icon to the simplenote folder in Yojimbo

Regards

Scott

Yes it does! However, after syncing I see only the titles of each
note, i.e., all synced notes (from Simplenote) are blank in Yojimbo.

Also, running Simplenote Yojimbo Sync twice seems to sync the same
bunch of notes twice — all synced notes duplicated in Yojimbo.

Could you try deleting the folder ~/Library/Application Support/
Simplenote Yojimbo Sync, removing everything from the Simplenote
folder in Yojimbo, and then re-running the app?

If that doesn't help, the next version will output to a log file which
I can use for more extensive debugging.

Tried that. Same result: folder and titles of notes created, but the
notes have no content.

Thanks.

Thanks, but it's the same: title only, no content. I'll wait for the
next version.

I would also mention that although Simplenote Yojimbo Sync did create
a new collection called 'Simplenote' in Yojimbo, the synced notes
didn't appear in it — they appeared in the 'Library' collection.

For what it's worth, I'm using Yojimbo 2 on Mac OS X 10.6.1.

Any chance this script could be ported for use with WriteRoom online?

Actually yes, I'm on the Taskpaper and Writeroom lists as well and it
seems really suitable. It should just be a matter of using a different
API. Once I've worked out the bugs that some people seem to be having,
I'll definitely look into that aspect.
