Hi,

I'm trying to create web archives from a website forum. I can easily
do this for the pages/threads visible to everyone, but not for the
pages that require my personal log-in, even though I am logged in at
the time I attempt to make the archive. I go through the steps and it
seems to work, but when I go in to Yojimbo to see the result, I get
the log-in screen. Am I doing something wrong? Anyone know a work-
around?

Thanks,
Keri

I should mention, I was using Ultra Recall on my PC prior to my switch
(this week!) to Mac. I love Ultra Recall (Kinook) and it did this
function just fine by allowing me to choose the option to store the
web page within the program. Unfortunately, Ultra Recall does not
have a Mac option. It also compresses everything so I can carry all
my data around on a jump drive. Does Yojimbe do this?

Here's the short answer. :-)

Capturing login-protected pages as web archives is sometimes possible and
sometimes not, depending on how the parent site works.

To improve your chances, log in to the site with Safari first. (Other
browsers won't have any effect).

You can also try saving a web archive directly from Safari and importing it
to Yojimbo.

If the site's contents are resistant to being stored in a web archive, you
can instead use the "Save PDF to Yojimbo" command (on the PDF popup in the
Print dialog).

Things are working just fine now . . . not sure that I did anything
differently, but I'm happy. Thanks for your reply, Patrick.
