The food and company was great at Yoga Serves March 1st Potluck! Thanks to Christy DeBurton for hosting at her studio!

For those of you who couldn't make it last Saturday - here's an update of what Yoga Serves has planned for this spring. We've come up with the service projects listed below. You don't have to make the potlucks to get involved with the projects. Please contact the Yoga Serves Project Organizer below if you'd like to lend a hand.
Yoga Serves Community Volunteer Projects (March-June)

Thursday March 20th, Delonis Center on W. Huron, 5-7 p.m. Help out in serving a hot meal to Ann Arbor's Shelter clients. Beyond March 20th this group will serve every third Thursday of the month, 5-7 p.m. This opportunity usually consists of about 5-7 volunteers. Contact Shannon Martin smartin@cfigroup.com
Sometime before March 25th - Ann Arbor Film Festival Lobby Installation Yoga Serves will help the Ann Arbor Film Festival transform the Michigan Theater Lobby into a glittering work of art with installation artist Esther Kirshenbaum. Esther is currently in Argentina, but will return by March 15th and will then let us know how we can help. Check our her past displays on her website www.estherkirshebaum.com They are Incredible. Saturday March 29th, Motor Meals Delivery, 10-1 p.m. Come volunteer by delivering meals to people who are homebound. Drivers need to be at least 18 to drive on route, two people per car. Drivers need to sign a one time driver waiver and passengers and drivers need to sign confidentiality forms. On Saturday there are 12 driving routes so 6 cars with two people each will be needed. Saturday and Sunday April 19, 20th His Holiness the Dalai Lama - (times vary depending upon the volunteer agreement) Yoga Serves contact Billie Wahlen starbillie@gmail.com Yoga Serves in coordination with Jewel Heart is looking for volunteers to help with many arrangements involved with His Holiness the Dalai Lama's visit to Ann Arbor and would greatly appreciate any time, talent, and energy you can donate toward this effort for pre-event activities as well as help during the weekend. *Free attendance for ushers to the talks is available if you're willing to stand and work as a general usher all day on either Saturday April 19th and or Sunday April 20th, including the Wege lecture. Attendance at Saturday morning training session is required. Usher volunteers are recruited and trained by U or M staff. Sunday April 27th 10a.m. -12 noon, Ann Arbor's Natural Area Preservation Come plant tress in honor of Earth Day! Volunteers will be planting native bushes and trees at Leslie Science & Nature Center where non-native species have been removed. The Leslie Science & Nature Center is also the site for Ann Arbor's Earth Day celebration which start at 12 pm that day, so you would already be on site when the festivities begin (and have a parking spot!)
