Dear Ambrish,
It is done for a variety of reason. The reasons are similar to having
joint bank account.
If one person is missing, the other can operate. Also gives confidence
to the other person in life.
Kids when they grow up can not afford of neglect, one of the parent
knowing both mom / dad own the property and after dad's death, mom can
still decide, who gets the property etc etc.

It has its negative sides too which I don't want to get into.

Take care,
Arnab M

Hi Nidhi,
I am also planning to add my brother's name in the allotment letter.
Please let me know if you get any information for same. Also please
upload or send me the sample letter required for affidavit if you
have.

Ambrish,
Can you please do me a favor. can you please ask following couple of
questions if you go to YEA office. It will be really helpful for us.

1) What all set of documents required for adding a family member in
the plot.
2) How long will it take once we submit all required docs. Can it be
done same day?

I really appreciate all your help guys in this regard.

Regards,
Ritesh
