Successfully made partial payment 30% followed by full payment:Points

Hi,

I had made 30 % payment on 16th Jan for my 500 Sqm plot ( Rs.512500 )
as per plan II as my loan was not sectioned on/before 17th of Jan
2010.

-I got my loan approved on 20th of Jan got a PTM letter from Yeida the
same day.
-Got my loan cheque on 21st and made payment on 22nd as follows:

*remaing amount 1616000 /- as loan cheque
817*5 = 4085 as interest @14% for 5 days (18, 19, 20, 21 and 22 Jan)

Note:

1) interest is on the total amount of 2128500 /- (with 2% discount)
NOT just on remaining amount of 1616000 /- as I had presumed.

2) interest is charged for 18th the Monday(though the date was
extended by a day as 17th was Sunday) and 22nd the payment day as
well.

3)I confirmed it on the customer care number as well as personally
meeting an official(from finance dept.) at the Yeida office.I tried to
convince the officer about the above two points but he did not
accepted my arguments about the interest should be levied on remaining
amount and the interrest should be charged for days 19th, 20th and 21st
(3 days only).

4)the late payment amount(4085 Rs) was acceptable as cash at OBC bank
Greater Noida with a seperate challan form to be filled.Later the
details of the cash payment were entered in the other challan for the
DD payment/loan cheque.

Thanks Vivek for the detailed description...So we do not need any permission to deposit 70% now ( if we are arranging our own funds)..Please confirm.

No Kunal,

But on safer side DO take the permission letter as you can get it the
same day in just half an hour on a non busy day.
I thought it wise to have some proof atleast.
