yad --notification error message

I have just installed yad in xubuntu 12.04.

I tried running this:
  yad --notification &

I get these error messages:

• (yad:22254): GdkPixbuf-CRITICAL **: gdk_pixbuf_scale_simple: assertion `dest_width > 0' failed

• (yad:22254): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_object_ref: assertion `G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

There doesn't seem to be much out there re these error messages. I'd appreciate very much any help.

try to update icon cache - gtk-update-icon-cache /usr/share/icons/hicolor

Thanks for your reply, Victor.

I did. Didn't seem to do anything; I am still getting the same errors.

I tried other yad commands from the examples in yad website, it seems that my problems are related to gtk-images.

My xubuntu is using xfwm4.
