Hello Y-Knot Supporters!
Yesterday marked the close of the Y-Knot Sailing season, and we couldn’t have asked for a nicer day!
Seven sailors, nine volunteers and six staff came together for a sunny day on Lake George. Sweatshirts and jackets were shed on the docks as everyone took in one last breath of summer air. There was a shortage of wind for the first 30 minutes of sailing, but the breeze finally came in from the west and stayed consistent for the next couple of hours.
Thank you to Jacob Daniel, Mark Carnevale, Fritz Smith, Erich Peiper, Krystal Bain, Scott Stewart and Dave Whalen for coming down to spend some time with us. They were joined by volunteers Mike Hall, Dan Kennedy, George Adams, Anna Daniel, Patricia Orango, Cindy Raych, Howard Raych, Don Miller and Margaret Peiper. Staff helping out Sunday were Sarah Rankin, Jine’ Andreozzi, Pete Kennedy, Travis Davis and Cedric Gamble.
Y-Knot Sailing continues to attract new sailors and volunteers, and it’s easy to see why. Each sailing day I am impressed by the quality of people I see in the boats and on the docks. Next spring can’t get here soon enough!
The next Y-Knot event will be Sailabration at Camp Chingachgook Saturday, November 12th. Invitations will go out soon, and we hope all of our Y-Knot supporters can join us for this great chance to look back on this season, and forward to the next.
Also, be on the lookout for the 2012 Y-Knot sailing dates, coming your way later this fall!
Until then, best wishes,
Billy Rankin
