Hello Y-Knot Members,

Our second 2012 board meeting will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 21 at 6:00 pm at the Clifton Pk- Half Moon Public Library on Moe Rd, Clifton Park.
Please note the meeting will be in Program Room C-D instead of the Piracci room which is where we generally met in the past. Program Room C-D appears to be on the library's second floor
.
A copy of the meeting agenda is attached.

At this meeting Peter Meixner of the Albany radio controlled boat club will give a talk about his club’s radio controlled sailboats, how they work on the same principles’ as the big boats, and their racing program held at the crossings of Colonie. This was brought up last year as a way for people in our program to hone their racing skills. Don Miller thoughtfully arranged for Peter to address our meeting between 6:00 and 6:30 and we can hold the board meeting after his presentation. I witnessed one of their races last summer at the Colonie Crossings and was impressed by the radio controlled boats' maneuverability, the race tactics and the layout of the race course. They expressed interest in a demonstration race at the camp during our season which would make an amusing and instructive additional event for the day.

Please try to attend the meeting next Tuesday,

Mark Carnevale

Thank you for sharing this Tim.  After I read the e-mail I decided to go and take part.  I thought it was an incredibly great Regatta. The Larchmont yacht club is impressive as well as the sailors and Long Island sound.  I was able to check out the new freedom Tower from the water in the distance.  Also,  I learned about a new sailing system which is really interesting:

thanks again for sharing
