Let me wish you all a belated Happy New Year!!!
Sorry that I have not spent time with this forum for quite some
time. Our limited resource was poured into the development of
the new version of XXCLONE for Vista, Windows 7 and 64-bit
(as well as 32-bit) environments.
The first official release, XXClone 2.00.0 was posted on
January 10, 2012 (slipped nine days from the original
target date of January 1st).
Then, again, we have seen a few minor problems and today,
we posted the latest version, ver.2.00.3.
We have been cleaning up the XXClone web site a little bit.
Also, you may notice a new little feature on the web page.
Yes. We added the Facebook Recommend (aka Like) button
and also Twitter's button. To be honest, I've been
doing Twitter for some time and it still looks like
a black hole. I'm wondering if it ever gets some traction.
On the other hand, I feel Facebook's networking may go
some distance. That's because my personal page of
Facebook seems look more active than my disappointing
twitter experience.

I'm just curious how that generates a slow but steady
wave that propagates and eventually become a huge
TSUNAMI!

Those who examine the featured picture of XXCLONE-Pro,
you should find the little buttons with a folder icon.
Yes. The new XXCLONE-Pro has the capability of
backing up the volume into a folder or restore from
a folder to a new volume. That includes a folder
on a remote (via network) machine. That's a whole new
level of flexibility. In the near future, we will
revise the on-line manual and also the HTML-style
help file (XXCLONE.HTM) that should explain the
details of the new features.
To keep the core product with the basic feature
from becoming too complicated with lots of new
features, we split the product family into
two classes, XXCLONE-Home and XXCLONE-Pro.
The new XXCLONE-Home is equivalent to the old
XXCLONE-Pro, feature-wise. Unless you are responsible
in backing up computers in a corporate environment,
the Home version should suffice it.

Anyway, this XXCLONE forum has been a target of spams
and I should take a better care. I'm hoping that it can
still be rejuvenated. I will give it try. If things
don't work out, we will find some other means to
communicate with the users. The next step is to
create a new Facebook page that is dedicated to
XXClone. At least, the page should not be soiled
by spammers.
