Hello friends,

I am trying to use xuggler on Fedora release 8 (Werewolf).
We are already using Sun Java 1.5 on this OS for some other purpose.
Hence I wanted to build xuggler and then run xugger-based app using the same java install.
( I assume readymade xuggler-installer for Ubntu will not work on Fedora )

Xuggler build went well, but some of the tests failed.
Further when I tried to run a smaple to convert flv to mov file, got a crash in libavcodec.
It says " stack alignment problem. Do not report to FFMPEG. You may try with gcc 4.2 or greater )
I have gcc 4.1.2.

Surprisingly my box also has IBM icedtea java 1.7 .
Xuggler build and then my application works fine with this version of java. ( some of the tests still fail ).

Can anybody help me to make it work with Sun Java 1.5 ? Are there any known problems/solutions in this regards.

Thanks and regards,
Amol

I haven't seen that problem before, but you could try what the bug report advises -- use GCC 4.2 or higher.  We use GCC 4.4 on Linux and GCC 4.2 on Windows and don't get this issue.
