Subject: audio in XTF

This may be more of a mechanical question regarding file storage.

Is anybody using XTF to actually store and deliver audio files? Or, are people linking out to audio files stored/served elsewhere such as an IR or dedicated audio server? I have tested linking from an EAD finding aid to both Real Audio and mp3 files in my desktop installation of XTF and both work fine. I guess I am looking for reasons not to store and deliver the audio directly through XTF. Concerns about file sizes perhaps? The files I am dealing with do not have restrictions on access so having file permissions in place is not a concern.
