Hello out there XSI people .

My machine just literally blew up because of an electrical surge.

Does anyone have a decent machine for sale with XSI on it? I am in the New York City area .

Thank you

If you have all the pieces/parts, then installation should work
normally.  My understanding is installations won't be possible if you
need to request a license key or other dependency as Autodesk no longer
processes those requests....which should be illegal if they issued a
'permanent' license.

Windows 10 is only discontinued for new development starting in
October.  The OS will continue to function for years to come. Customers
can buy extended support for at least a few years as not everybody can
drop Windows 10 and migrate to something else in the short term.  the
first extra year is pretty cheap, but goes up very quickly with each
successive year.  Softimage does work on Windows 11, but you'll need to
futz with a bunch of settings in Windows for legacy feature support here
or there.  If you don't like that idea, you can run Windows 10 in a
virtual machine and install Softimage there and not have to worry about EOL.

In theory you can activate a standalone license online.

*Autodesk no longer supports offline activation for 2021 products and
earlier.* If you have a perpetual license, activate your software by going
online only once. After you activate online, you can continue to use 2021
software and earlier offline. This change doesn't apply to previous
versions that you already activated offline; you can continue to use them
as before.

I think "offline" was when you send a request code to a person, who then
generated an activation code and sent it back.

Let me know if you have problems.

Funny, Softimage wouldn't run on my Windows 10 machine, but so far it's
fine on my new Windows 11 machine.
