Bradley Gabe posted something about doing an updated "Jedi" training class
before he immerses himself in med school. I'm sure that, as valuable as
those 2005 videos are, he has assuredly developed more refined techniques
in the last eight years. Besides, posting these at this juncture may
undermine Bradleys efforts to put these "Jedi Training" lessons together.

Hey - has anyone ever posted Bradley Gabe's 2005 CG Soup master class
anywhere?

I was cleaning my shelves this morning & came across the CD.

I don't think I've seen it online anywhere. I'd be happy to pull the
videos off of it if it's not against any laws/rules.

-Paul

Just to clarify, what I find attractive is the fact that with the right
setup you can literally just plug a machine into a switch on your network
and it will boot up as a rendernode with zero intervention needed. You can
get a machine to a usable state with a few minutes of taking it out of the

Yeah, I can think of numerous reasons why there might be a network delay. That isn't the question. The question is...why is Soft putting a 5 minute freeze on the process of reacquiring the asset? At least that's the way it looks.

Joey

______________________________ __
Sent: Friday, May 17, 2013 6:57 PM

I'm losing access to my textures in Softimage. The external files manager reports all files on this server as "redlined". From the script editor I frequently get the following error :

// INFO : 4000 - Share '\\servername\drivename' marked as invalid for the next 300 seconds

If I wait long enough and refresh from the EFM, the redlines will go away and the textures will render again.

Wasn't there a thing that when mentalray doesn't understand a format but
Soft does, Soft makes a bitmap that mentalray can understand under the
hood? Or am I mixing this up with another renderer?
