Hi guys, since its friday have you seen this? https://vimeo.com/46478843 Is
this what the ex Softimage devs moved over to Maya for - because it can't
do this yet? ;)
interesting in the comments the credits are given to Maya and some third
party plugins... did some research and it looks like it was made by some
guys at a place called Piranha Bar who use 8 seats of Softimage & 3Dsmax -
not a Maya in the house
/shakes fist at the world for promoting further Softimage ignorance :)
I think this is really interesting treatment, i love it

But i couldn't help noticing the similarities between the Cadbury ad, and
this: http://vimeo.com/37967381 I'm not shouting ripoff...but it does feel a bit too close for my taste.
Well, often working with agencies here. You have no idea (maybe) how these guys are thirsty of fresh concept. It's behance, iso50, butdoesitfloat, etc. all the day.
I agree, this one is at the limit...
But I'm so happy it is Sofimage :)))))

Motion capture combined with particle F/X is hardly a new thing. Am I just
imagining things or have people been doing animations like both of them for
many years?
I just don't think the Quayola work can really be pointed at as being
something that was never done before and that no one previously had
explored that same concept.
Credit should be given properly however, on that we all agree. Not
surprising considering it was posted by the agency and not the studio that
actually did the work.
