ICE caching question

Hey folks,

 

Is it possible to cache ICE simulation without losing the ICEtree? I’m about to use syflex, and I need to scrub the timeline, but it doesn’t work unless you cache it. If I use the cachemanager it deletes the ICE tree…But I need to ICE to tree to adjust…

Have you tried the “Cache on File” node inside ICE?

Not sure why its deleting the ICE Tree. It shouldn't. You should just cache it out then apply the cache to a duplicate mesh that receives the cache leaving your sim geo alone.

Yep, it works if I load it onto a copy. I thought it’s a bit more straightforward.

Hi Szabolcs,
I believe what u meant is the cache system outside of ice. If that's the case, what it does is actually creating a cache object and of course this would not have the Ice tree. It's just a cache... U will be able to see an extra point cloud (in a different color from a browser )
