Not sure but maybe a FBX Version conflict, are you able to get the animation flawless in MAx or Maya through same FBX

Hey all -

I have a scene that was created in MatchMover 2013 (VBS export - the only thing that works with Softimage...).

I'm now trying to export the scene to Eyeon Fusion and I'm having all sorts of problems getting the camera data out.

I've tried dotXSI which normally works, but when I bring it in to Fusion I only see RealvizCam with animation applied on Angle of View - no other channels.

I've also tried exporting the entire scene as an FBX, but same issue.  The camera contains nothing but animation on AOV.  Looking at it in Soft I can see animation on FOV, POSX, Y, Z and ROTX, Y and Z.

Any idea what's going on?

Thanks,

Hi
There seems to be a problem with the fusion. Fbx and dotxsi importer.
They mention in the manual that you have to use the dotxsi for camera data but I never got it working ,
My workaround is to plott constrained cubes or whatever and export those as dotxsi.
In fusion you load your fbx and the on the camera import the animation for the cam and the target(interest) from the plottet cubes dotxsi.
Hope this helps
Sry for spelling typed on the phone.

Actually, MatchMover 2013 seems to have all sorts of problems too.

I tried nearly every exporter I could find.  Some of them worked, but FBX would either give an error or crash.  XSI would either give an error or crash.

I was able to get data from MatchMover to Fusion directly by exporting a .MA file for the nulls and an LWS file for the camera.

It's pretty sad that Autodesk took a pretty nifty program and have let it languish....

I'll let Eyeon know there's an issue, though.

Yup, it's my pet gripe.  It's rebranded with each release but *no* bugs are fixed at all.  It's disgraceful that it's used in advertising as a feature.

It's unable to export any Autodesk native format to Soft!  That command ridden vbs script is appalling, but as you say, it's they only real option!

Solved it.

Even though the camera already has a keyframe on every frame, if you tell the dotXSI exporter to plot the animation it creates a .xsi file that works fine with Fusion.

A bit frustrating for sure.
