Just a heads up.  I've never used Krakatoa but this looks promising for anyone who does.

I thought Steven C. also had a Krak exporter a while back as well..

ya he does but this tool seems to cache parameters that are going to be used by the Krakatoa PRT_loader. Whereas Steven's one albeit a very good alternative, was only exporting point position.

actually mine exports position, velocity, color and density (alpha) what it doesn't support is arbitrary channels. that was on my todo list. the code i wrote is open source and is available here...

his tool has a nice gui like the cache manager, and a has 'partitioning' built in. which is just seed offsetting and combining caches later. so it looks superior, but krakatoa is less and less appealing as fury renderer inside slipstream vx matures. the price point is far better.

maybe we can convince gregory to share his? i am interested in his implementation of arbitrary channels. its fairly easy to support a static set/list but i never found time to extend it.

also i wanted to create a prt_loader node for bring caches from max into softimage. i think the prt format is well written and is very similar to the icecache format.

oh but my previous comment about krakatoa being less relevant now with fury in slipstreamvx
