The 2011.5 release has been postponed to at least the 7th of october, maybe even later.

And to make things worse, the official statement on the AD site ( http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/item?siteID=123112&id=15500444 ) doesn't even mention Lagoa anymore...

Cheers

I don’t think Lagoa was ever mentioned on autodesk.com.

Lagoa is still on area.autodesk.com and the Autodesk youtube channel.

Can't... wait... another... week...

I'm hoping that the release was delayed to correct some bugs. If that's
the case, I'm okay with that. Heck, we are all used to Pixologic's
release date "push back", right? (Years, in some cases) but we all
forgave them when the final product came out. I've got both open right
now, and I'm a happy guy.

I don't think Autodesk will pull Lagoa from us completely. Perhaps they
are putting some finishing touches and will release it as an addon a
little later. Just a possibility. Maybe they will provide it as a wider
release to all their users as a "thank you" for making us wait for it,
or to drum up excitement to a larger crowd. :-) One can wish. I'm a
"glass half full" kind of guy.

A glass filled halfway technically exists in both a "half full" and "half empty" state at the same time; therefore the quandary is a nebulous juxtaposition that can't be derived from an "either or" conditional.

Quantum physics? Great, time to pull out my high school textbooks. ;-)

You're right. I'm both depressed and excited at the same time. I'm just like an electron. Can we make an ICE compound to describe this effect? Do we need to wait for Lagoa to do this?

Actually, I will spend a lot of time just playing with the Polygonizer tool. It will keep me busy for a while, I think. I have some immediate need for that tool.

If you can’t wait a week for polygonizer, buy EmPolygonizer2 from eric mootz, it’s cheap and it’s one of the most useful tools in xsi!

Yup, I was going to buy it next. I have both emFluid and emRPC.
Purchased both right when they came out, but just haven't pulled the
trigger on emPolygonizer. I really love Eric's stuff.

If you are speaking of ZBrush 4.0 I still can't believe I'm getting these upgrades for free after having bought a license of Zbrush 3.0 at Siggy
Boston years ago.  Some of the new features in 4.0 are astounding like shadowBox:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CJTu2qcOssg

+1 for Eric's emPolygonizer, can someone confirm that 1.71 will be released with Lagoa and not 2.05,
I read the Redmotion post.

Thanks,

I can confirm that it's 1.7something (the last version I saw mentioned was 1.718 but we might have taken another drop from Eric after that).

I haven't played with version 2 but judging from Eric's video, he's added a lot of cool stuff. On the other hand, 1.7 is more than good enough for basic meshing and more.

My only concern with buying in external plugins for Soft, is the Shave and a Haircut train wreck

Hopefully AD realises that if you license a version of something, you have to then license the upgrades further down the line?
