My experiences with a speedtouch 780 confirm the third explanation.
My soundbridge (wireless) always sees firefly after restarting the
soundbridge and then after exactly 2 hours it says "No music libraries
found". This is because the soundbridge does a multicast query upon
startup requesting a unicast reply. It then receives the answer from
firefly and this gets stored in the soundbridge cache. This cache
entry is valid for 2 hours. After 1 hour the soundbridge starts
sending out queries to check whether the cache is still valid. Firefly
then sends out multicast replies but these never reach the
soundbridge. After two hours the entry expires from the soundbridge
cache and the soundbridge then decides that the music server is no
longer there (even while streaming from that very same server).
I came to this conclusion after reading an MDNS white paper and by
running firefly in debug mode. The firefly log showed that the
soundbridge is sending out multicast queries and that firefly is
sending out multicast replies to these queries.
This was with a speedtouch 780 wireless. My conclusion was the same as
Ron's: The 780 passes multicast from wireless to wired only. The only
reason the soundbridge sees firefly upon boot is because it receives a
unicast reply to its initial query (as specified in the MDNS
protocol).
Using a wired connection for the soundbridge I never saw this problem.
I then disabled the speedtouch wireless module and hooked up my old
belkin access point. All running fine now.
Als je dus via een ap gaat zou het moeten werken.

Staat eronder, gebruik een acces point.
Ikzelf gebruik Belkin

Heb je de cli manual al gelezen?
