Hi,

I´ve updated xnoise to latest release in Ubuntu 12.04 from ppa.

I have all main gstreamer plugins installed.

I´ve loaded a file and xnoise play it but no sound is given. Sound is on max

File works fine in parole.

Any idea how to fix this?

Regards

Try switching on-off-on the equalizer. This solved the problem for somebody else.
Please file a bug, if not.

No luck here. Seems similar to issue 26 and issue 23

Bu I have no bitbucket account to file an issue

Please start xnoise from terminal and post the output.

Is the track playing without sound, or no playback?

No error from console.

In issue 23 You´ve posted an message from Alex.

My issue is the same

So if you are using Ubuntu 12.04 Precise then you will have
xnoise-0.2.15?

Did you play with the preamp gain of the equalizer like in issue #23?

Xnoise-0.2.15 is still with gstreamer-0.10. That's different from that
other bug report.

Yes. It´s 0.2.15

What are possible values for preamp? 0 and 1? If so Yes.

You don't have to edit the ini file. It should be fine if you just
change the preamp volume from the xnoise equalizer window. Did you? You
can verify the value being saved in the ini file, if you like.
Any effect?

No. My problem is:

Xnoise loads file and it is shown in volume control (pulseaudio) as being played but in fact no sound is given.

The strange thing is that parole works fine and it´s also gstreamer.

And I really don´t wanna install gnome-media, that provides gstreamer-properties cause i´m on xubuntu and this package brings many dependencies that i really don´t need.

Is it possible to build 0.2.17 for precise?

It has to be xnoise. I´ve installed noise (the one we don´t felt in love with) just to check and it works fine.

Yes. That is why I want you to check the preamp. If it is set to 0
internally, you can playback media without hearing anything. So please
try the volume of the eq preamp.

And xnoise-0.2.17 is not possible on Precise because there is no
gstreamer-1.0 available

Will try it. Will set the equalizer volume at max

For precise there is a gstreamer ppa but if You say it´s not possible that´s fine.

If there is a gstreamer-1.0 ppa then it might work. But you will maybe
have to compile it yourself.
Only standard Precise has no gstreamer-1.0

That didn´t work also. I really like xnoise but at this point I must use other player for my music collection.

Now I´ve got an error. "GstError: Resource not found"

Can this help to narrow issue?

Does this happen all the time?
Is it on the terminal only?
Does this happen during start, during playback or during accessing the
equalizer?

It happens when I press Play
