I think Debian packaging popularity need strengthening.

First, note that I re-posted RFS for version 0.1.31:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-mentors/2012/01/msg00539.html

Secondly, I think Debian packaging isn't clear enough for Xnoise.
If I were a newbie to Debian(and I was), I would be confused how to get Xnoise to Debian(remember it, Jorn?).
Sadly, as far as it seems, Debian developers, is not about to confirm Xnoise.
It maybe because they don't see it's urgent enough, since Debian users don't use it very much.
In result, many Debian users don't use this player.

Have you noticed this cycle? We can break it.
I think it will be better if Xnoise provide a easier way for getting Debian packages.
I have upload Xnoise 0.1.31 Debian source&amd64 packages as a start:
http://www.mediafire.com/?bvqprb2soz7y9r7
http://www.mediafire.com/?6ktaoamptrtjdwb

I suggest it will be uploaded to Xnoise site as easy links.
We can create an environment using pbuilder for cross architectures mirror, but I don't have a clue about it.
So for now source and amd64 will be enough.

In addition, Debian packaging Wiki is not clear enough. There shell be a separate page called "DebianPackaging".
In this page, the links above shell be given, and shell explain what is Xnoise status in Debian.
It shell also explain how to use compile the source package:
1. Get xnoise_X.X.X.orig.tar.gz(By an easy link or from Debian mentors), basic build tools and required dependencies(including *-dev packages).
2. Extract it in the same directory.
3. cd to the extracted folder.
4. dpkg-buildpackage -b

Tal

You are absolutely right.
I think Debian packaging is a horribly confusing (for starters),
in-transparent and very frustrating process.
After passing all tests, implementing all kinds of standards and common
techniques there wasn't even one maintainer who even looked at the
package.
Seems there are only people around who don't have the power to decide
anything. People bothered me with absolutely minor things that should be
improved before the package will be accepted and when things were done
they admitted that they weren't real Debian maintainers.

I will add download links for the debian packages and also provide a x86
package.
Thanks for your effort!
Regards
Jörn
