I don't understand what you mean by 'playlist filtering on the cover
view'.
I'll add the 'latest album added' thing to my list, but this will not be
realized for some time because of a bug in glib/gio (file monitoring in
multithreaded applications) that was only recently fixed. It will take
some time for the distros to adapt the new version of glib (especially
after Canonical announced to stay with the current release of Gtk+ and
friends).
Just using the time of database import of one album will not really work
for now, because usually people just do a full scan on their music
libraries.
