Controlling colour in uImage Illustrator

Collective minds,

I am wanting to run a uImage call to Illustrator to create a logo for
the recipient based on their initials, but also to give the recipient
the option to select two colours for the logo (foreground, background
colours)

Given that there is no action equivalent in Illustrator, has anyone
got any smart ideas to pass two colours to a template to use (maybe as
a value pair, or via JavaScript)?.

I have thought of having multiple template based on different colour
combinations, but ideally I want the user to have more freedom in the
colour choice and therefore have a single 'smart' template that can
achieve the effect.

Any thoughts.....
