i have been using xmind for the last few years .. i have no idea how i
got by before it .. it truly is a remarkable piece of software

sometime last year i upgraded the xmind application from v3.0.2 to
v3.1.1 .. i encountered a change of functionality that was very
upsetting (still appears to happen in 3.2.0):

<issue>
when i attempt to move multiple floating topics at the same time (by
dragging and dropping) they loose their relative spatial positions
(they all pile up on top of eachother)
</issue>

i could almost accept this as a very unfortunate implementation of
multiple item drag and drop .. but this behavior (of loosing
positional information) is not consistent with older versions of the
software

this problem is described in further detail in these posts:
http://groups.google.com/group/xmind/browse_thread/thread/03a72134142f97c9/b36d805ea3ba3ab0?lnk=raot#b36d805ea3ba3ab0
http://groups.google.com/group/xmind/browse_thread/thread/f48974a535aa6588
(the second post provides images depicting the loss of positional
information when the allow overlaps feature is disabled)

this problem is also in the issue tracker (issue 157):
http://code.google.com/p/xmind3/issues/detail?id=157
</see also>

i use xmind to model some fairly large and complex datasets .. this
generates maps where sometimes i need to move hundreds of floating
topics at a time (where the precision of relative position is
essential) .. what took a few minutes in older versions (and most of
that was selecting all of the nodes) now can take up to an hour
(sometimes more)

because of this issue .. i am compelled to use an older version of
xmind and would like very much to be able to update to something more
recent

XMind Team should take this into consideration seriously. :(

Sincerely!
