Hey there.

I'm making a map at the moment and have multiple [6] floating topics
that are linked with arrows.

This is sitting below another unlinked group of 12 linked floating
topics.

I want to move the 6 linked floating topics down lower on the page to
allow more topics to be attached to each of the 2 main groups [and not
overlap].

However,
when i select the 6 linked topics and then try and move them [either
as a straight grab, or whilst holding the command key] it places the
boxes all on top of each other [i.e. all positional information is
lost].

If I try and copy [holding option] the 6 linked floating topics the
links disappear and the boxes just appear all under each other [i.e.
formatting is lost]

Does anyone know of any way to move multiple linked topics and still
keep their positions and links exactly as they were set up?

cheers
chris

i believe chris is describing a problem that i am also having .. i
could almost accept it as a very unfortunate implementation of
multiple item drag and drop .. however, the described behavior: "all
positional information is lost" .. is not consistent with earlier
versions of the xmind software

(when tested in version 3.0.2, relative positional information is
maintained when dragging and dropping multiple topic nodes)

this problem appears to also be referenced in the forum post:
http://groups.google.com/group/xmind/browse_thread/thread/f48974a535aa6588
(this post provides images of the loss of positional information when
the allow overlaps feature is disabled)

this problem is also an unaddressed defect in the issue tracker (issue
157) found here: http://code.google.com/p/xmind3/issues/detail?id=157

if anyone knows anything about this please let me know .. this
particular defect is preventing me from upgrading to the most recent
version
