Unexpected error message -- XSLTApplyError xsl:choose: unexpected content text

I have an XSLT file that is working in some instances and breaking in
others. When it breaks, the following error appears in the log:

>> XSLTApplyError xsl:choose: unexpected content text

I've googled this error, but I've come up empty. Does anyone have an
idea what's going on?

I found the problem: I was missing an <xsl:otherwise/> in my
<xsl:choose/>. After I added it, the problem was solved.
