Quite a few emails have come across our inboxes today regarding an issue
with the old version of the 3 day point forecast. There was indeed a
problem and it has been fixed. There are 2 versions of the 3 day point
forecast. One is free and tries to get data real-time from the NWS
servers. Because we can't control the quality of this data, it is free
for anyone to use. This version of the 3 day point forecast was broken
and has been since Aug 5 12z. The data in a rotating archive managed by
the NWS has not updated since Aug5. We have pointed our application to
another server for the data and it seems to be running fine again.
Note that the new and improved version of the 3 day point forecast, as
well at the route tools were working without error during this period.
This application uses data housed on our servers and takes advantage of
a higher resolution forecast data set, so it should be a little more
