Does anyone know of a good source code example of ruby client xauth
preferably using the ruby oath plugin?

All,
I am playing around with xAuth and it seems that the xAuth server
defined here - [link]
expects more than the details that is specified in config in the
example code. I see a error "origin is not defined". Has something
changed from the examples? Since the js is minified I was not able to... more »

SSL for xauth.org is broken

xauth.org is using Akamai to cache the JS, but https retrieval of the
JS yields certificate warnings because the servers are using Akamai's
certificates, not those for xauth.org. I imagine this is a money
issue :o but it should be fixed or at least noted as on the list of
things that will be fixe before the public starts using this for real.... more »

XAuth feature detection standardization and future proofing

The discussion over at the OpenID list motivated me to write up my
proposal for an improved XAuth snippet. My JS-fu is weak, but the
basic idea is to avoid duplicate loading and more importantly allow
for swap-out of XAuth implementations in the future:

In the interest of continuing to detail possible changes/additions to XAuth that we've discussed here off and on... The use-case I'm most focused on is the one in which the client does not know about every possible service at design-time. +1 to John's analysis. I am not saying the security or privacy considerations are trivial, I'm only saying that the potential to use XAuth + JRD as a discovery mechanism could deliver a lot of value to both the user and to the sites they visit.
