HELP please! Xaos quits unexpectedly.

I was using Xaos just fine until a couple months ago. One day when I
tried to run the program, it quit unexpectedly. I tried several times
and it kept doing the same thing. I am running Xaos on a Mac Book
Pro.

I downloaded a new version, thinking perhaps the program on my
computer had been corrupted or something. Same problem! I can't get
Xaos to even open anymore--very frustrating!

Can anyone suggest any solutions?

Thank you!

I just want to say that I have the same problem, starting a few days
ago.
I also use Mac Book Pro. I also tried reinstalling XaoS.
It just does not open with the very appropriate message: "XaoS quit
unexpectedly".

Let me know if any of you solved the mystery.

Thanks.

Did you try deleting your net.sourceforge.xaos.XaoS.plist file for your
Library/Preferences folder? Removing this file should allow XaoS to start correctly again.

Sorry for the delayed reply - traveling. Anyway, I could not find this file to delete despite searching multiple ways and looking in files...... Xaos still quits on start up.

I imagine something in ~/.xaos is causing the problem, try renaming
that directory so XaoS creates a new one.

If that doesn't help maybe running xaos with dtrace would provide some clues...

Hi gang. Again sorry for being on the road and a bit of a dunce on some computer stuff, but nothing I've tried works. First, I can't find a plist anywhere - have searched hi and low. Don't know what a "dtrace" is. Xaos simply crashes on opening. Thought by now either a larger problem would have been discovered (i.e. Lion) and solved or not, so beginning to think something strange on this end..... still makes no sense. Works one day, install Lion, does not work.

I've posted about my almost identical problems with instant crash, after more than a month of doing some of my finest art and having a fascinating time making images with Xaos. There is Nothing like this program, and I would PAY! to have the ability to use the power of Xaos when I want. are a few of the images done with Xaos and other programs.   http://www.artwanted.com/artist.cfm?ArtID=35521

I am only 6yrs into Macs and have mostly used my machines to process and publish art and edited photography.
I would really appreciate some help in getting my back on my feet. There may be something fishy going on that I would guess has something to do with the crash reports that are sent to The Company.

The big difference with my frustrating failures is that I'm using Snow Leopard. I have avoided the stupid bimonthly upgrades.I don't like new problems!
Some of you started having problems after getting loin. It may be that all macs regardless of version of OS are in the same "boat"?
I would like some helpful input...Tim
