Bill,

Thanks for bringing up the idea of using the parser to filter
an 835 into another new 835 with just the selected remits.

We have a first pass at it available in Version 1.16L-07
http://groups.google.com/group/com1software

We had a good start on that section of the parser from some prior work
so
that we were able to get things going pretty quickly, I am sure that
there are quite a few segments
that we will still need to add to the newly generated 835 file in up
and coming releases.

The option of IC for Individual Claim should work with this parse and
will generate a new file using the claim ID as the file name with an .
835 extension.

Because this parse has the same source format as the destination, the
automatic naming of the destination file when left blank will not
work. The feature of having an automatic incremental destination file
subset naming function will be something we will be looking to add in
an up and coming release.

Dave,

I wasn't sure exactly how to run this, so I took a stab with the
following .bat file:

c:
CD \Program Files\C1D0F252
C1D0F252.EXE 835 E:\X12-835\MC101112.835 E:\X12-835\MC101112_14x.txt
OW,FILTER=FACILITYTYPECODE,14

It ran for a while, but I couldn't find any output when it was done.
Did I do it wrong?

Thanks,
Bill

Bill,

It looks like you are missing your destination file. The parse.log
should have some information on it

Since I did all my tests from the screens I ran a test with a batch
file here to be sure and it worked ok.

Note the h:\test1newfile will create a newfile.835 in the test1
folder.

cd\c1d0f252
C1D0F252.EXE 835 H:\test\testa.835 h:\test1\newfile
OW,FILTER=FACILITYTYPECODE,14
cd\test

Thanks
Dave

Dave,

Sorry it took a while to get back to you. I was trying to parse out an
835 file with the following script:

c:
CD \Program Files\C1D0F252
C1D0F252.EXE 835 E:\X12-835\MC101112.835 E:\X12-835\MC101112_14x
OW,FILTER=FACILITYTYPECODE,14

It opened up and gave me 4 batches to select. Three of the batches
were small and didn't appear to do anything, presumably because they
didn't have any that met the filtering criteria. The other batch ran
for quite some time. But when it was done, I didn't have an output
file. Not sure what to do from here. I can't share my 835 file with
you because it's live patient data. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Bill

Bill,

I did a couple of tests here and it looks like if you are having a
problem with multiple ST batches you
can use an ST option as outlined below. It seems to work fine with the
filter option.

c:
CD \Program Files\C1D0F252
C1D0F252.EXE 835 E:\X12-835\MC101112.835 E:\X12-835\MC101112_14x
ST,OW,FILTER=FACILITYTYPECODE,14

If you are having a problem with multiple ISA files we may need to
look at the issue again.
Multi ISA Threads:
http://groups.google.com/group/x12-parser/browse_thread/thread/46aaf70c3d483bd2
http://groups.google.com/group/x12-parser/browse_thread/thread/660a213efb13d43f

In our next release I plan on making it so that when you parse the 835
to 835, it will detect
the multiple batches and apply the ST option automatically.

Thanks
Dave

Bill,

Just to let you know, we have added multi-ISA support to the 835 to
835 parse.

Hopefully that will take care of any problems you were seeing.

Thanks
Dave
