*Walton Shooting

A domestic violence call turned into a shooting in the Valley View area of
Walton County. Just after 6 am Thursday morning, Walton County deputies
responded to a possible domestic violence call on Mack Edwards Road, south
of Ponce De Leon.  According to the caller, her nephew’s girlfriend
contacted her and told her she needed help because her boyfriend had
sustained a gunshot injury.

Upon arrival, deputies and EMS attended to both subjects. The male subject
suffered from a gunshot wound to the face in the jaw area and the female
had facial injuries.  Both were transported by EMS to a local hospital
where they are being currently being treated. Thursday afternoon the
Sheriff’s Office said investigators were still on the scene and the
subjects are Britt McHenry and Lora Miller. Miller was released from the
hospital by the afternoon.

Investigators were called to assist in the investigation.  The crime scene
was outside the ranch style home near some campers and a barn. The
sheriff’s office Crime Scene was preparing an evidence box labeled for a
long gun such as a shotgun or rifle.*
