I'm sure this must be a FAQ but I couldn't see an obvious answer on
the wxPython web site.

Is there a Python v3 version of wxPython in preparation? If so is there
a likely date for distribution?

The reason I ask is that I am updating my Python tutorial and the GUI
section
includes a wxPython sample program as a comparison with Tkinter. I'd like
to
keep it in the V3 tutor but will need to add a caveat if wxPython won't be
available for a while.

Hi Alan,

The port to Python 3.x isn't high on the priority list, so you'll probably want to include the caveat. As I understand it, Robin Dunn is changing how he generates the wrappers for wx from SWIG to something else and is focusing on that and the 2.9 unstable release (and/or one or more 2.8 releases). Once that's done, then the port to 3.x might get under way. He's always looking for volunteers to help though, so if you've got the time, please contribute!

OK Thanks. I'll add a note to the tutor.

If its still waiting when I finish updating the tutorial I might just do
that.
I keep meaning to dig into wxPython a bit deeper, that would be one way...

thanks again,
