Hi, I've got a peculiar problem. If I run test.wxjs (a simple "Hello,
World!") once, it's no problem, it runs perfectly. Yet when I refresh
the page or open a new tab with the script, Apache crashes. Here is a
clean error.log:

This is using the latest version of XAMPP. mod_php and mod_neko work
fine.

I downloaded Apache 2.2.8 to make sure XAMPP wasn't influencing it and
installed mod_wxjs. The same error occurs. Here is the error.log:

Can you try Apache 2.2.6? The binaries of mod_wxjs are compiled
against this version and maybe this conflicts with version 2.2.8

There's no error, Apache just restarts and then crashes when mod_wxjs
is run again. Any thoughts?

I meant Apache version 2.2.3. It's the upcoming version that is linked
with 2.2.6.
In the meantime I changed the dll names in the documentation.

2.2.3 crashes as well. I wonder if anybody else has the same problem?

"In the meantime I changed the dll names in the documentation. "
Which ones?

I don't see these crashes on my machine.
Can you post your httpd.conf?

Those with a d (debug) in the wxWidget libraries. You must load the
release-dll's of wxWidgets.

Ok, here's the httpd.conf, it's a vanilla configuration, so I'm not
sure what you expect to find here:

# ThreadsPerChild: constant number of worker threads in the server
process
# MaxRequestsPerChild: maximum number of requests a server process
serves
ThreadsPerChild 250
MaxRequestsPerChild 0

#
# ServerRoot: The top of the directory tree under which the server's
# configuration, error, and log files are kept.
#
# Do not add a slash at the end of the directory path. If you point
# ServerRoot at a non-local disk, be sure to point the LockFile
directive
# at a local disk. If you wish to share the same ServerRoot for
multiple
# httpd daemons, you will need to change at least LockFile and
PidFile.
#
ServerRoot "F:/web/apache223"

#
# Listen: Allows you to bind Apache to specific IP addresses and/or
# ports, instead of the default. See also the <VirtualHost>
# directive.
#
# Change this to Listen on specific IP addresses as shown below to
# prevent Apache from glomming onto all bound IP addresses (0.0.0.0)
#
#Listen 12.34.56.78:80
Listen 127.0.0.1:8081

I can't reproduce the crash you are seeing.
Can you try to debug this in Visual C++?

I'm not proficient in C++ at all, so I don't think so. Could there be
anything else I can do to help?

Do you see a crash report of Windows? Which dll is crashing?
Can you try to remove all wxJavaScript entries in httpd.conf and see
if php works? Just to be certain that this problem is related to
wxJavaScript.

Okay, here's what the crash report states:
Error signature: Appname: httpd.exe AppVer: 2.2.3.0 ModName:
mod_wxjs.dll ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 00018c39
When I click Debug, Visual C++ starts up and gives me "Unhandled
exception in httpd.exe: 0xC0000005: Access Violation."
Then, it scrolls to line 77F767CD which states " int 3 ".

BTW, installing PHP and running it didn't produce any errors.
Disabling wxjs and running PHP also didn't produce any errors.

I will try to make a debug release of the upcoming version (begin next
week), so we can try to find the problem.

I've uploaded a release candidate to this newsgroup. You can find it
here: http://groups.google.com/group/wxjavascript/files
It contains the debug version of the modules and programs.

Okay. There's no apreq module included. Do I simply copy it from the
official release?

That should be ok.
I will update the archive when I get home this evening (in Belgium)
