Hi,

We're testing some automated testing applications (LDTP, dogtail) which let us examine a running Wx application and discover / control the GUI objects therein. However, the performance so far is far from acceptable with respect to object identification (wx names don't get through) and control type recognition; anything slightly complex like ListCtrl, GridCtrl, etc comes up as a blank panel.

At this stage we're looking at running our linux-based app under Windows instead so the equivalent Windows tools (QuickTest Pro, etc) can be used instead, but if there's something we can do to improve the linux side of things we'd like that more...

Does anyone have experience with automated testing of Wx applications which could be of benefit?

Thanks,
Ian Macdonald

Hi Ian,

On my side I used PyWinAuto to do some regression testing on Windows however. Maybe there is some equivalent on Linux.

This is really convenient, easy to control and powerful lib for python:

Kind regards,

Jean-Philippe
