NEW ANNOUNCEMENTS:
The Girls’ Basketball Team is having a fundraiser on Monday, Jan.
30th. Eat in or take out from Capuano's on Clarksville Rd. and the
restaurant will give a percentage of sales to the South Girls’
Basketball Booster Club. Please present a flyer, available at the
restaurant.
Come support the Girls’ Basketball Team at tonight's 5:30 home game
for Senior Day!
Applications are now available for the 2012-2013 Youth Teaching Youth
program. Any sophomore or junior interested in a career in teaching
must complete and submit an application to be considered for
participation. Applications must be submitted BEFORE you schedule
classes for next year. See Ms. Bozian in room 402 today!
Attention Juniors – order forms for long sleeve class t-shirts are in
your locker tops. Orders are due by Tuesday, Jan. 31st. Extra
forms are available in the main office.
REPEAT ANNOUNCEMENTS:
HS South Orchestra is having a fundraiser! Come to Cheeburger
Cheeburger on Tuesday, Jan. 31st from 5:30-9:00pm and enjoy good food
and help the orchestra at the same time. Remember to bring a flyer,
which you can get from the orchestra room.
The Pirate Marching Band is having a workshop for anyone interested in
joining Marching Band for the 2012-13 season. The interesting event
will take place on Sat., Feb. 4th from 8:30am-12:00pm, in the HS South
Band Room. Come enjoy breakfast and a few hours of what the Pirate
Marching Band is all about. There is no commitment by attending the
event, so come on out. Please see Ms. Carraher for more information.
This month only, submit artwork and writing to the Echoes Winter
Submit-a-thon for a chance to win a $30.00 Barnes and Noble gift
card. Submissions can be placed in the box in the library or sent to
echoes...@gmail.com.
Come join us on Feb. 12th at the Concert Band Past Dinner! Offered at
two times, 4:30 and 6:30pm, you will be fed a delicious dinner,
receive live entertainment by the HSS Concert Bands and small
ensembles and partake in a gift basket raffle if you choose…all for
$15.00. All proceeds benefit the HSS Concert Band Program. If you
are interested in purchasing a ticket, ask any band student or see Ms.
Carraher in the band room. Bring your friends and family for an
excellent time guaranteed.
Attention All: please remember when writing a check for the Cafeteria
to please write your child's student I.D. number on the check.
Without the number it is very difficult to figure out who the check
belongs to.
Relay for Life will have its Kick-off meeting on Monday, Jan. 30th
during the second half of lunch in the playhouse.
Seniors! You have until Friday, Feb. 3rd, to turn your parent ads in!
Parent ads can be created online or turned into the librarians. Pick
up a flyer in the library for more info.
Do you like working with children? Are you thinking about a career in
education? Do you wonder if teaching is an occupation you should
pursue? If you answered “yes” to any these questions then you should
consider participating in the Urban Teacher Academy at the College of
New Jersey this summer. The Urban Teacher Academy is an incredible
program offered each summer to high school juniors interested in
becoming teachers. Not only will participants be introduced to a
career in education on a highly respectable college campus, they will
then have the opportunity to practice their skills before even
starting senior year! An information and orientation meeting is
scheduled for Wednesday, February 1st. Come meet the Executive
Director of TCNJ’s Center for Future Educators, view a video and
listen to former participants share their experiences. Sign up with
Ms. Bozian in room 402 as soon as possible.
Spring Sports will start on or around March 2nd, 2012. Permission
packets are now being accepted and may be downloaded from the district
website. Check with the nurse for updated physical eligibility.
Please support Post Prom 2012 and attend their next exciting
fundraising event which is scheduled for Sat., Jan. 28th, 2012. Fore

forget to tell all your friends, too!”

listing of ALL colleges that will be visiting this year.
