Support Questions
|
| |
Wview has three mechanisms for user support: the Google mailing list,
the forum and the Mantis issue tracking database.
For general questions, suggestions, or discussions is the mailing list
or the forum preferred?
When a user suspects he has found a bug or useful suggestion, should it
be submitted to the Mantis immediately, or should it be submitted to the... more »

Ubuntu Precise Pangolin & APT install of wview
|
| |
Hello, I'm running Ubuntu Precise Pangolin & noticed in the wview manual for the APT install it only references the older Natty Narwhal distribution. When I installed I went ahead & followed instruction & used " [link]" Should I have replaced "natty" with say "precise"? It seems to run OK with the "natty" URL, so maybe I just... more »

Archive not updated
|
| |
I administer my wview server (weather) from another machine (amito). If
I halt amito or put it into sleep mode while the server is running and
an ssh connection to weather is open, the archive
file /usr/local/var/wview/archive on weather stops being updated; the
rest of server operation continues OK. Updating is restored and the... more »

Bigger graphs?
|
| |
I am a new user of Wview. I'd like to create bigger graphs, something like
400x800 pixels or so. Is there some way to configure the graph generation
engine to create bigger ones?
Thanks

Favicon for wview
|
| |
Placing the attached file, favicon.ico, into the document root for your
web server will make it the favicon for your weather site. For Fedora,
place it at /var/www/html/favicon.ico.
Adapted from example classic partly cloudy icon.
All the best - jon

Thoughts on wview
|
| |
First, I want to say that wview is an excellent piece of software:
useful, clearly structured, well documented, and not too difficult to
install and use. Pretty graphics too. Now that I have it running I'd
like to document the problems that I have had installing it. If anyone
wants to know about the weather in the Oakland Hills, the site is:... more »

system init failed, wviewd.pid exists,
|
| |
Hi Everyone,
I actually think I know what I did wrong but I need some help to
correct what I did without reinstalling my entire NSLU2's software.
What I did was try to install wview using the source file and when
this didn't work and when the "apt-get" for 5.20.0 became available I
installed wview via apt-get. Everything worked fine for over a month... more »

/dev/ttyUSB0 changes to /dev/ttyUSB1
|
| |
Occasionally the port on which the Davis VPro2 console is visible
changes from /dev/ttyUSB0 to /dev/ttyUSB1. I haven't noticed any reason
for this, in particular no change in physical connections; it just
happens when it happens. When it does happen, the server won't start
since it's looking for the console on the wrong port.... more »

Complete reset and reinstall?
|
| |
I haven't had any luck getting the archive to work; there seem to be
continuing disagreements between wview and the Vantage Pro console about
something, probably date and time, which prevent wview from reading data
from the console. This morning I: 1. Stopped the wview server 2. Powered down the Vantage Pro Console by unplugging it and and... more »
