One thing you might want to make a little more known is the wview-
update script you put in the scripts directory. It seems to make the
update procedure pretty much a no-brainer. Really really helpful !!!

Thanks for pointing that (wview-update) out. If you have wview > 5.5.0,
bash and wget installed, and network connectivity then there is no
reason not to use it (I do too). It is completely automated.

I have documented it in the UM...

bummer... guess I didn't read that part... just upgrade from 5.5.0 to
5.6.4 did it manual...

one question, I didn't had to use:
make install-env

because I only did
make install

I was getting ready to use the wview-update script which says "This
script should automatically update any wview installation >= 5.4.0."
I notice that you say here
"> 5.5.0" (which I have). Has this changed or am I ok using the
script with 5.5.0? Thanks. BG

You should be fine - I should have used ">=". I can't remember now,
whenever the "wview-version" file was introduced. I'm sure it is
there for 5.5.0...
