Archive not updated

I administer my wview server (weather) from another machine (amito).  If I halt amito or put it into sleep mode while the server is running and an ssh connection to weather is open, the archive file /usr/local/var/wview/archive on weather stops being updated; the rest of server operation continues OK.  Updating is restored and the missing values are entered (apparently correctly) when the wview server is restarted.

Has anyone else noticed this?  Any idea what's going on?
